Events

I’m doing readings/signings/book sales here and there. More specifically, here:

Life and Death launch event

Monday 8th December

Bristol Folk House
40a Park Street, Bristol, BS1 5JG

7:30pm–9:30pm

Admission FREE

Life and Death story authors will read and discuss their work. Copies will be available for sale and signing.

I’m a Life and Death author, and I’ll be there, but I won’t be reading – maybe that makes it more of a draw – who knows?

Thornbury Writers Spoken Word Event, 28th October 2025

Four of the authors published in Life and Death from The Bristol School of Writing will be reading at a spoken word event in Thornbury, just north of Bristol.

The FREE event will be held at The Butcher’s Hook, High Street, Thornbury on Tuesday 28 October at 7.30pm.

The authors are:

Claire Jaggard, who wrote the funny and touching ‘The Added Benefit of an Off Switch’

Tony Domaille, who wrote the wry and amusing ‘Unrequited Love’

Hilary Smith, who wrote the moving ‘Speechless’

and

Simon Clarke, who wrote the dark story ‘Bitter Sanctuary’

Because of time limitations, the chances are that we will be reading new and different (and slightly shorter) stories, but the Life and Death collection will be available to buy, as will books from a range of other authors taking part in the event.

Full details are in the attached flyer.

So if you can get there, please do come along and support local authors!

Talking Tales, Stokes Croft, 30th October 2025

I’ll be reading a VERY short flash piece at the next Talking Tales, which has the theme of ‘Dark Tales’ (because, you know, Hallowe’en). It’s a short slot because the event will also be celebrating the launch of the 2025 To Hull And Back Humorous Short Story Anthology. Many of the writers featured in the book will be reading at the event. I entered this biennial competition in 2023 and GOT NOWHERE, but nonetheless it is sure to be fabulous.
